Rachel Ann Martinmaas (Hoppman), age 51, of Salem, OR, passed away peacefully at home on the morning of May 5, 2025. Rachel was a beautiful, strong, and kind woman, raised in a home full of love, hard work, and values.
She was born on May 15, 1973, in Salem, OR, to Richard and Pauline Hoppman of Surrey, ND. Rachel spent most of her working years as a receptionist, most notably with Anheuser-Busch, where she became the go-to lady for all things Budweiser including merchandise and beer hookups.
Outside of work, Rachel loved camping and taking the trailer out any chance she got. She had a big heart for her family, especially her parents. She brought joy to those around her, created meaningful memories, and made wishes come true – like the long-awaited trip to Surrey, ND.
She was always up for a competitive game of cribbage with her husband and kids, and she absolutely adored her boxers, almost as much as she spoiled her grandkids. For Rachel, the perfect summer evening meant steaks on the grill, dogs playing, family laughing, the cribbage board on the table, a margarita in her hand, and music in the background.
Rachel is survived by her husband of 20 years, Ryan Martinmaas; her children Brandon Hoppman-Frye, Brianna Maciel (Cristian), and Brooke Martinmaas; her four grandchildren Emerson, Peyton, Iyla, and Dakota; and her brother Jon Hoppman (Valerie). She is reunited in heaven with her parents, Polly and Rich Hoppman; her oldest brother, Wade Hoppman; and her beloved boxer, Harley. There’s a celebration in heaven today.
An interment of ashes will be held on May 15, 2025, at 2:30pm at Belcrest Memorial Park.
Rachel will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
