Robert completed his GED while serving our country with the United States Air Force as a firefighter, and received his Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Oregon State College.
In his many years of public service he started in Medford, moved to Colorado, moved to Richland Washington and left Richland Washington to take the position of Oregon State Fire Marshal.
Robert always enjoyed the leadership role and put all of his efforts in ways to improve the Fire department keeping safety and saving lives in the forefront while doing what was best for the State and community. Along with holding the position of Oregon State Fire Marshall, he was appointed director, president, council member, and board manager of various groups he was involved in. He did so with loyalty, trust, and honor; three values he held in the highest regard.
Bob was incredibly organized, always prepared, had a dry sense of humor, would help those in need or down on their luck, and loved to cook. Especially the recipes handed down to him from his mother brought over from Italy. After retirement, Robert went on to join the Santiam Fly Fishing Club, Sons of Italy, and the Four Corners Rod and Gun Club. He had a passion for volunteer work, fly fishing, mountain biking, and perfecting his workmanship.
Bob is survived by his sons, Raymond (Patty) and Michael Panuccio; and grandchildren, Nicole, Brandon, Kimberly, and Travis.
Interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery at a later date.
