Rosalie Ellen Westerlund passed away peacefully on January 10, 2023 at her home in Salem Oregon. Rose was born September 2, 1940 in Milan, IL. Shortly after, her family moved out West and she lived a majority of her life in both Tonopah and Reno NV. Rose worked in the service industry until she retired in 2006. Rose enjoyed the simple things, like penny slots, winning at bingo, and spending time with her family.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents Russell Welbourn and Maxine Francisco, sisters Joanne Wayne, Nancy McGee and Gail Grew and her grandson Jon Westerlund. She is survived by her brothers Tom (Pat) Welbourn and Larry “Butch” Bright, children Tony Westerlund, Johnna Johnson, Joseph (Lisa)Westerlund and Richard (Robyn) Westerlund and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Our family is grateful to know that Rose is at peace and she will be forever remembered and loved. A celebration of life will be held on March 5, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.. at the Virgil T. Golden Funeral Home 605 Commercial St SE, Salem, OR 97301.
