Betty Bernice McDermott

She was born to Joe and Florence DeKarver on May 3, 1923, in Salt Lake City. She attended East High School and graduated in the class of 1942. She married Bruce McDermott during WW II. She and her beloved companion were proud members of the “Greatest Generation”, who sacrificed during the war and helped shape our nation and our world.

She lived in Utah all her life and loved its beauty and nature. Betty lived for her family. She treasured them. Her boundless love and caring nature will be sorely missed by all.

She leaves behind her children, Craig McDermott, Lynne Merrell (Bruce), Cathy Muskin (Paul), Cindy Fritz and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

There will be a private family graveside service at 2 pm on Sat. May 19 at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. A one hour viewing prior to the service.
