

1922 – 2015
Thelma (Johnson) Scott passed away on December 13, 2015 in Ogden, Utah. Thelma was born on September 26, 1922 in Queen City, Texas to Major Johnson Sr. and Olievier (Richie) Scott. Thelma married E.G Scott on October 10, 1946 and they were happily married for 61 years until E.G’s passing in 2007. Thelma lived a long and beautiful life. She loved to cook and often her home was the stop for people to come by and enjoy her amazing greens, cornbread and her famous pound cake. She loved to study and read her Bible and you could always catch her humming or singing an old hymnal with the biggest smile on her face. She had a deep love for the Lord!
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Major Johnson, her husband E.G Scott and her son Willie Scott. She is survived in death by her son Eddie F. Scott and daughter-in-law Keri Scott of Centennial, Colorado. Her four grandchildren Natalie (Ellis) Scott of Ogden, Utah, Eddie F. Scott II of Salt Lake City, Utah, Chalaunda M. Scott and Courtney N. Scott of Denver, Colorado, three great-children, Christopher, Kyra and Aaron Scott of Mapleton, Utah, her sister Johnnie Brooks of Denver, Colorado, her brother Vernon Johnson and sister LaVerne Johnson-Baptiste of Texarkana, Texas. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews and in-laws that truly loved her and will miss her dearly.
The family would like to say a tremendous thank you to Manor Care of Ogden, Utah and Applegate Hospice who was there supporting and caring for her in her last days.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday December 31, 2015 at 11:00am at Calvary Baptist Church, 1090 South State Street in Salt Lake City, Utah 84111. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday December 30, 2015 from 6-8pm at Evans and Early Mortuary, 574 East 100 South, Salt Lake City, Utah, 84102.
