Alfred LaPier, Jr., 82, of San Angelo, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020. He was born on November 1, 1938 in Helena, Montana to Alfred LaPier & Nora Sinclair LaPier. Al joined the Air Force when he was 17, then the Army, then the Navy and rejoined the Army retiring in 1976 as Staff Sgt after 20 years of military service. He moved to Kermit, TX and worked in oilfield roustabout work for several years. Al married Brenda Allen on August 23, 1993 in Kermit, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, brothers Norman and John and sisters Alfreda, Mary Lou and Frances. Al is survived by his wife Brenda LaPier, stepson Lonny and wife Julie Allen of Tiffin, Ohio and stepdaughter Shona Ramos of San Angelo, TX. Grandchildren Brooke Gelinas, Macy Allen, Zoey Allen of Tiffin, Ohio, Richie Ramos and Robbie Ramos of San Angelo, TX and great grandson Hunter Gelinas of Tiffin, Ohio; sisters Betty and husband James Crawford and Joy Parks of Helena, Montana and special niece Peggy Kline and daughter Jolene of Laural, Montana plus several other nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2020 at Johnson’s Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the LaPier family asks that you make a memorial donation in Al’s name to West Texas Boys Ranch, ASU Athletics or a charity of your choice. The family would also like to thank Dr. Ty Hughston and his nurse Robin. Al donated his body to the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
