Rosary will be Johnson’s Funeral Home on Tuesday September 19th at 6:00 PM. Mass will be officiated by Fernando Bonilla at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church on Wednesday, September 20th at 10:00 AM. Funeral services following mass will be at Johnson’s Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens in San Angelo, TX
Atanacio was born on August 2, 1940 in Sabinas Coahuila, Mexico. He was the eldest child of Estanislado Vasquez and Maria de la Luz Vasquez.
Atanacio and his family moved to San Angelo in 1977. He was a hard working man whose top priority was providing for his family. He worked at Handy Packing and Lone Star Packing for 35 years and after retiring he also worked at Premier Automotive and Buskers Body Shop. He attended St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and loved cooking and grilling for his family and friends. He also enjoyed growing his own tomatoes and peppers in his garden. But he especially enjoyed being around his family and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Felicitas Vasquez, his sons Jesus Vasquez and spouse Debbie, Julio Vasquez and spouse Joe Ann, Marco Vasquez and spouse Araceli, brothers Juan Vasquez and spouse Irma, Luis Vasquez and spouse Teresa, sisters Manuela Barrientos, Maria Socorro Jimenez, Blanca Jimenez, Consuelo Young and husband Jose. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Alfonso Vasquez and Martin Vasquez.
Also surviving are grandchildren Amber Franco and spouse Josh, Tiffany Vasquez, Marco Vasquez Jr. and spouse Christina, Maria Vasquez, Gabbi Vasquez, Joshua Vasquez and spouse Jessica, Isaac Vasquez and spouse Chloe, Arianna Vasquez, Jonathan Vasquez. Great grandchildren Mario, Michael, Bella, Sammy, Jackson, Jillian, E.J. Maddie, Remi, Jacoby, Nila, Cora, Kai, and many friends.
