Billy Jack Jenkins, 67, of San Angelo, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2020 after a brief illness. He was born on February 24, 1953 in San Angelo, Texas to Jack H. “Red” and Viola Janca Jenkins. Bill attended San Angelo Central High School and graduated in the class of 1971.
Bill never met a stranger that was not soon a friend --- he was loyal to a fault, and forever. In his lifetime, he worked in a variety of careers until he became disabled. He was known to fix just about anything that was broken, by determination if not anything else.
Nickole and Nathan, Bill’s children were the center of his world. They were never to far from his thoughts, even though they, lived many miles away. He was proud of both of them.
As a lifetime outdoorsman, Bill enjoyed all the hunting and fishing seasons of the year. The biggest set of deer antlers or the heaviest crappie or bass always brought a pleased smile to his face.
Bill was preceded in death by his father Jack H. “Red” Jenkins and several very close friends.
He is survived by his daughter Nickole Jenkins of Ft. Worth, his son Nathan (Leah) Jenkins, and their daughters Kate and Lila Jenkins of Austin; his beloved mother Vi Jenkins; his sister Wanda (David) Holik of Wall; his brother Bruce (Patti) Jenkins of San Angelo; five nephews and three nieces and all of their families.
There will be a private family memorial service at a later date.
The family would like to thank the ICU nursing staff at San Angelo Community Medical Center and the staff and nurses at Arbor Terrace Healthcare Center for their care and compassion in the final weeks of Bill’s life.
