Carlos Aguilar Hernandez, age 92, of San Angelo, Texas passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. He was born in Del Rio, Texas to Jesus and Virginia Hernandez. Carlos married Maria Torres on October 12, 1957. This marriage blessed them with 3 children.
Carlos worked for many years as a sheep shearer. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching boxing on television which he would discuss in great detail with his sons and grandsons. You could always find Carlos outside tinkering with different things. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed.
Carlos is preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, 2 sisters, and his son, Carlos Jr.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 66 years, Maria Hernandez; his children, Mary Chappa and Rodrigo Hernandez; his grandchildren, Robert Chappa, Jr., Steven Chappa, Carlos Michael Hernandez, Rodrigo Hernandez, and Charlie Hernandez; his great grandchildren, Robert Chappa III, Xavier Chappa, Alyssa Chappa, Kylie Chappa, Adrian Chappa, and Jordan Chappa; his great-great grandchildren, Selena Chappa and Naomi Fulton as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Rosary for Carlos will be held Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at 6:00 PM at Johnson's Funeral Home, 435 W Beauregard Ave, San Angelo, Texas 76903. A Mass of Christian Burial will occur Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St Mary's Catholic Church, 11 W Ave N, San Angelo, Texas 76905.
Carlos will be laid to rest in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, San Angelo, TX.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Gabriel's Hospice as well as Jennifer, Georgannia and Lupe for their loving care shown to Carlos. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Carlos' name to a charity of your choice.
Serving as pallbearers are Robert Chappa, Jr., Robert Chappa, III, Antonio Hernandez, Charlie Hernandez, Xavier Chappa, Adrian Chappa, Jordan Chappa, Kylie Chappa and Alyssa Chappa.
