Chester F. Wilson (86) was born in 1935 to Chester W. Wilson and Dorothy (Harris) Wilson in Oilton, Oklahoma. He passed away at Shannon Medical Center surrounded by his family on October 1, 2022. Chester spent his early years in the rural community of Wolf, Oklahoma, and completed grade school in Wolf. He completed high school in Plainville, Kansas, and one year of college in Hays, Kansas. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1956 and served until 1986. Chester retired as Chief Master Sergeant. During his 30 year military career, he worked in major military communications centers in Korea, Japan, Thailand, England, Spain, Italy, and Turkey. The highlight of his military career was the time spent with Century House London. After retiring from the military, he was employed by Raytheon Company at the Pave Paws radar station near Eldorado for 12 years. After the radar station closed, he drove the bus for an upscale senior retirement center for 10 years. He retired to home and family at age 75. Chester married Celia (Rita) Cascarina in London and together they raised two sons, Daren, born in London, and David, born in Madrid. Chester is preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Ava Gaines. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Rita; sons, Daren, and David and wife Cassie; grandson, Austin Wilson; and Chester’s little angels, Natalia & Olivia Lopez, all of San Angelo. He is also survived by one brother, Gary and wife Shelly of Johnstown, CO; two sisters, Debora and husband Mike Bailey of Bronte, and Hazel Davis of Longview. Open visitation will be held from 12-8 pm, Wednesday October 5, 2022 at Johnson's Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 2 PM at Johnson’s Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Services will be officiated by Pastor Kirk Dauphin.
