Dorothy Jean Armstrong

Dorothy Armstrong, 90, died unexpectedly on October 18, 2023, at Shannon Hospital in San Angelo, TX. She was born on August 22, 1933, in Live Oak County, the daughter of Andrew Freasier and Birdie Vera (Redd) Freasier.

Dorothy married Albert M. Beights, Jr. on November 30, 1949, and they lived in the China Grove community where they raised five children.

She married Paul Armstrong in 1984 and he preceded her in death after 17 years of marriage.

Dorothy fulfilled her lifelong dream when she became a nurse in 1984 at the age of 51 and she worked tirelessly until she retired at the age of 84. She was active until her last moment.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers Larry Freasier and David Freasier. Also preceding her in death was a daughter-in-law, Vinita Beights, two grandsons, Cliff Beights and Brad Dockrey and a great grandson Grant Scott Gallager.

She is survived by five children, Cindy Hearrell of San Angelo, TX, Marsha Dockrey and husband Bruce of Colorado City, TX, Mike Beights and wife Betsy of Mckinney, TX, Ricky Beights and wife Terri of Snyder, TX, and Scott Beights of Colorado City, TX, and a brother Edwin Freasier of Aransas Pass, TX. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren,12 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews and a special friend Sonny Holsenbeck.

A memorial service will be held in the Loraine, TX, cemetery at 1:00 on Monday afternoon on October 23, 2023.
