Edwin Earl “Bo” Wester of San Angelo, Texas passed away on August 1, 2022. He was born on June 25, 1936, as the fourth child to Thomas Lee and Lois Wester in San Angelo, Texas. Bo attended Lake View High School and graduated in the class of 1954. He attended San Angelo College and studied physics. Bo had a variety of occupations including driving a bread truck, farming and ranching and almost a rodeo career. He retired after 34 years from Goodyear Proving Grounds where he pioneered tire technology in the diamond and copper mines.
Bo married Patricia Ann Sullivan on September 24, 1966. Together they raised seven children. He will always be remembered as a mountain of a man to the ones who knew and loved him.
There will be a viewing of Edwin Earl “Bo” Wester on Thursday, August 4th at Johnson’s Funeral Home between 5 - 7 p.m.
The funeral service will be at Johnson’s Funeral Home at 10 a.m. on August 5, 2022. Also, there will be catering at the funeral home for those who would like to stay while the family has a short graveside service.
Pallbearers for the service will be Steve Marcum, Tony Dixon, Jon Richardson, Jeff Moore, Ryan Mimms and Trace Moring. Honorary pallbearers are Bradyn, Braxtyn and Jack Mimms.
Bo was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings, Anna Lou Smith, Betty Sue Echols and Eugene Lee Wester, three grandchildren Justin Cox, Michael Chad Cunningham and Mandy Pitts, one nephew, David Smith and one niece D'Aun Avary
Survivors include his wife Patricia, daughters Debra (Tommy) Hill of Del Rio, Vicki Cunningham of San Angelo, Tami (Tony) Dixon of Garland, Lavonne (Jon) Richardson of Midland and Ashleigh (Ryan) Mimms of Acuff. He is survived by two sons, Wesley Wester of Selma, AL and Casey (Shannon) Wester of Abilene. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Launa and TJ (Ashley) Hill, Tyler and Kelsie Cox, Lacey (Trace) Moring and Stephanie Marcum, Birch Richardson and Hannah Wester, eighteen great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter along with many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
