Eloise Beck Hodapp, 93, lifelong resident of San Angelo, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2016 in San Angelo. She was born to the late, Emil Frederick and Hertha Claire Willig Beck on November 9, 1922 in San Angelo. Eloise married the love of her life, Harold G. Hodapp on November 19, 1942 in Anaheim, CA. She worked as a secretary during World War II at the Goodfellow AFB and then for over 30 years with her husband at Harold G. Hodapp, CPA office in San Angelo. She was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years, as well as participated in the Women’s Group. She was a caregiver throughout her life; to her husband, children, and grandchildren as well as several elderly family members in the last phases of their lives. It has been said that she was self-sacrificing, always putting the needs of others above her own. She was known for her baking of breads and sweets as well as her cooking in general. Her ancestry of bakers ran strong in her linage and she did them all proud to say the least. In addition to her talents in the kitchen, she was a gifted seamstress. Eloise supported and participated in the Kiwanis Club alongside her husband for countless years before she joined as a member herself. Their time in the Kiwanis Club afforded them the opportunity to travel throughout the world together. She never met a stranger and was present for every event throughout her children’s lives. Eloise leaves behind a legacy of love, strength and giving. She will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a great granddaughter, Sydney.
