Eugene “Bud” Pavlicek, Jr., 79, of San Angelo, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 6, 2018. He was born to the late, Eugene, Sr. and Bernice Lehr Pavlicek on April 23, 1938, in Ballinger, Texas. Bud owned and operated Pavlicek Construction Company as well as farmed and ranched for many years. He believed in working hard and never sat still. Bud was known as a fun loving and adventurous man to many. He was the ultimate outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time at the ranch working or enjoying his family and friends. He was a wonderful storyteller. Bud was an avid Spurs and Cowboys fan. He was an animal lover of all kinds and was known to rescue deer, armadillo and other critters. Bud’s love of life and independent spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife of 42 years, Donna Taylor Pavlicek; and his sister, Dorothy Watkins.
Survivors include his wife Lisa Lea Tidwell Pavlicek; daughters, Tammy McCarty and her husband, Norris, and Jacque Wells and her husband, Gary, Sr.; son, Brian Walker; Bud was also affectionally known as “Vader” by his grandchildren, Mitch McCarty, Matt McCarty and his fiancé, Tana, and Gary Wells, Jr. and his fiancé, Brandi; great grandchildren, Hagan, Logan, and Hunter; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
There will be a gathering and visitation held from 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday, March 9, 2018, at Johnson’s Funeral Home of San Angelo. A private memorial service will be held at a later date as well. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to West Texas Boys Ranch. Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson’s Funeral Home of San Angelo.
