Evelyn Eckerman Wells, 90 departed this life Thursday, October 7, 2021 at San Angelo Nursing and Rehab. Johnson’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Evelyn was a Christian having accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior when she was 20 years old. Evelyn was born May 22, 1931 in Tom Green County and has been a lifetime resident. Evelyn graduated from Lake View High School and attended San Angelo Business College. Evelyn retired in May 1993 after working 43 years as a clerk, secretary, payroll clerk and bookkeeper. No one enjoyed retirement more. Evelyn married Harold McCoy October 1, 1949. They were divorced June 22, 1951. Evelyn married Archie Wells February 7, 1959. They were divorced January 10, 1964. Evelyn is survived by her daughter Sherry and husband Ken Gentry of Canton, Mississippi and five grandchildren. Welcoming Evelyn to the great beyond were her parents, Helmuth and Martina Eckerman, her daughter Bobbie Wamer and brothers, Roy, Leonard and Orvin Eckerman.
