Gail Mullins Clark, with her husband and children surrounding her, peacefully entered her heavenly home at the age of 54 years and 8 months, on June 11, 2011, at MD Anderson Hospital, after a short courageous battle with anaplastic carcinoma thyroid cancer. Gail was born to Gene and Dorothy Mullins on September 30, 1956 in Houston, Texas. She married Gerald Clark March 29, 1973.
Gail and Gerald began married life serving as Music Minister at Bible Baptist Church, Dumas, Texas, where Gerald’s father was pastor. Gail and Gerald served in full-time ministry in Dumas, Arlington, San Antonio, Stratford, and San Angelo, where they have served as pastor and pastor’s wife at Central Faith Baptist Church since November 2003.
Through the years, in addition to serving in full-time ministry, Gail was a cosmetologist, manager of an office supply, and what she considered her favorite career, a librarian. At the time of her passing Gail was circulation manager at the Tom Green County Library.
But her heart was always with her family. Gail and Gerald raised three children, Tamara, Eugene, and Rachael. Gail was a true servant, in her home with her husband and children, and with her church family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Mullins; her father-in-law, Pastor G. A. (Jerry) Clark; and her brother-in-law, Roger Hickey. She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Mullins of New Caney, Texas; husband, Gerald Clark, of the home; children, Tamara and Mike Putman; Eugene and Shandra Clark, Rachael and Rudy Diaz, all of San Angelo; 9 grandchildren, Dylan, Jazmin, Caleb, Ashley, Jathin, Jerrin, Morgan, Ryan, and Joshua (soon to be born), all of San Angelo; sister, Ruby Allen of New Caney; brother, Gene Mullins, of Porter, Texas; aunts, uncles, and numerous nieces and nephews and other family members; mother-in-law, Nell Clark of San Angelo; sister-in-law Cynthia Hickey and family of San Angelo; brother-in-law Jon and Tina Clark and family of Dumas, Texas; and many other beloved extended family members.
A celebration of life for Gail Clark will be held at 3PM on Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at The Heights Baptist Church, San Angelo Texas. Interment will follow at Fairmount Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, you may send a memorial to the Central Faith Building Renovation Fund, 2460 Jomar, San Angelo TX 76901. Gail worked tirelessly helping with the renovations and improvements, helping paint inside and out, varnishing, and providing meals for all the volunteer workers.
