Sorry for your loss Jack. Was not aware of his passing. Your dads achievements were amazing. Sounds like he lived his life to the fullest.

With sadness I learned of Jack's death today. My most vivid memories of him were the twinkle he always seemed to have in his eye, his easygoing and understanding nature when I was friends with his son so many years ago, and the enthusiasm he had when with the Confederate Air Force at their air shows. Once I remember hearing him almost choke up when announcing to the audience which old warbird was flying, he was no doubt remembering those airplanes in time of war, and the men he served with then. Rest in peace, Jack.

Dad flew everything from a one-engine prop plane to a 4-engine Boeing 707 jet. As a 21 year-old, he flew P47s in northern Italy, and as a 57 year-old, he flew gunship night missions in Viet Nam. After retiring a Colonel from the Air Force, he won a statewide award for a newspaper feature when he worked at the San Angelo Standard Times, and helped legendary songwriter Tom Lehrer write a song for the movie A GATHERING OF EAGLES, filmed at Beale Air Force Base, where dad was a PR officer.  In his 60s, he wing-walked with the late Jim Franklin, and he even built a passive solar adobe home with his bare hands (and a little help). When he was 73 he climbed Texas' highest peak, Guadalupe. As his son I'd like to think I've lived a varied, exciting life, but clearly, I don't hold a candle to the old man. Thanks for teaching me what you know, dad.

I was Mr Morgans nurse for a year or so. He was so sweet & full of fond memories.  I loved listening to his stories from the war. He was liked by many & will be missed. RIP Mr Morgan

I had the great honor of meeting Jack. I was able to share in his great life and meet his wonderful wife.  Jack was such a happy man who counted all of his blessings. Jack will be missed by many. My prayers go out to his family and friends.

What I remember about Jack was that he was a fun, funny person. I loved his homemade tacos, and I loved it when he talked like Donald Duck. My children remember him teaching them to juggle, to do magic tricks, and how he inspired them to want to be pilots. Jack was a good husband to my sister Gloria, and for that I am grateful.
