Grandad,

You were one of the most special people in my life and it will be hard not having you here. I am glad you are with Nanny now. I am so glad I was with you in your final hours. One of my favorite memories of you was when you would always tell me, "Don't ever get too big to give me a hug." I never did ;) My most fond memories of you were going fishing at the boat house, going to your house to play scrabble, mowing your yard and talking with you afterwards, and fixing your computer on a weekly basis (haha). I will always remember you and the lessons you taught us growing up. I love you and will miss you!

What a great blessing Jake was to all who knew him. You are all in my prayers. May God grant you peace and comfort during this time of loss. Remember the joy-filled times and the lessons you all learned from him.

my buddy jake was a hoss on the upright bass,a funny sonofagun,a baseball fan to the end and the only guy i ever met who knew my grandpa brashears,who passed before i was born.he told me stoories of when they worked at the standard times together and of trips around west texas when grandpa was picking up drafties to bring to angelo..he was a perfect connection to a part of my family that i missed out on.being on stage and BSing with him during shows was always a hoot,and he fool proofed his bass by making it nearly impossible for anyone else to play...rest high on that mountain,jake!!!

The family of Jake was very fortunate to have him in their midst.  He was a great friend and musician.  We will miss his almost daily emails.  God be with you all.

For years I'd drive by Jake and Sue's house and admire it. Then we bought across the street and so enjoyed having Jake as a friend and neighbor. Thanks for sharing him with us.

What a great man, father, and friend.  I have a lot of fond memories.  Johnny, Hal, and families...my prayers are with all of you.

To Hal and the Wyatt family: I am deeply saddened upon hearing of Jake's death. I just adored the man ... he was so good to me when I was an intern and young reporter at the S-T. He would go out of his way to help, and I learned so much about his part of the newspaper business. May he rest in peace. My deepest condolences to all of you, especially my young pal, Hal!

What a joy to know Jake. His cute boyish grin and sense of humor touched all who were so blessed to know him!  He always saw the cup as half full, never half empty. His love for family and people was evident through his music and infamous joke telling ( I've never laughed so hard). I feel blessed to known Jake for most of my life. I pray for you to always remember the good times .....he's bound to be playing with God 's Angel Band at this moment. Love the Wyatts always!
