James Milton Jacoby

Services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, December 14th at Wall Brethren Church with Rev. Tommy Tallas officiating. Burial will follow in Eola Cemetery. Arrangements are by Johnson’s Funeral Home.

James was born November 18, 1924 in Eden, Texas to Max and Mary (Medders) Jacoby. He was a resident of Eola since 1939. He was a mechanic for over 30 years in Eola, TX, Postmaster for Mereta, TX for 18 years and member of Eola Methodist Church. He was a US Army veteran in the 44th Armored Division.

James was married to Dreda Frances Slough on December 25, 1947 in Eola, TX. She preceded him in death on March 30, 2008. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one son Michael Jacoby, two brothers Reginald Jacoby and his wife and Jackie Jacoby and grandson-in-law Jonathan Wahmann.

Survivors include daughter Renee Carpenter and husband Joe of Eola; two granddaughters Amanda Wahmann and Andrew Scott Perez of San Angelo and Chandra Jacoby of Waco; one grandson Joshua Jacoby; two sisters Louise Bledsoe and Maxene Low both of San Angelo; sister-in-law LuRene Jacoby of San Angelo and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to say a very special Thank You to Hospice of San Angelo, Senior Care, and All Shannon Medical Team.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Prosise, Matt Prosise, Andrew Scott Perez, Joe Escamilla, Joe Mesa, and Alfred De La Garza.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bert Lathrum, F.P. Grosshans, Fred Harris.
