

James Gordon May Jr. (Jamie) also known as Pops, 60, of Miles, Texas passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Shannon Hospital. A Memorial service will be held at 2 pm, Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Johnson's Funeral Home in San Angelo, Texas. The family would like to thank Shannon Hospital 5th floor staff, Hospice and Johnson’s Funeral Home for their assistance during this time. Jamie was born on May 18, 1961, in San Angelo, Texas to James Gordon May Sr. and Gwendolyn Farris. Jamie attended Miles High School and graduated in the class of 1979. He began his career right out of high school in the oil and pipe industry, working for his dad at James May Pipe and Supply as a Truck Driver. Jamie married Kellie Becknell on February 14, 1988, in San Angelo, Texas and had 3 kids: Tamatha (Tammy) Peiser; Daniel Bell; James (Trey) May III (Christine). He had many adopted children that he loved dearly. Jamie is survived by his wife Kellie May; his father James Gordon May Sr. (Connie); Stepfather Richie Cravens and his Father-n-law Danny L Becknell I (Jerrie). His siblings include William May (Tracy); Richard Booth (Dolores); Leta May; Sheila Rumsey (Jeffrey); Sonia Perry (Bobby); Kelly Kimp; Kenneth Kimp; Kimberly Collison (Brent); Brother-n-law, Danny L Becknell II; Sister-n-law, Dorothy Becknell; Brother-n-law, Ricky Becknell; Sister-n-law, Rita Hawkins (Joshua) Jamie had five grandchildren: Manuel Vargas; Whitney Peiser; Thomas (Though) Peiser Jr.; Rylee May; Anthony May. Jamie had many nieces and nephews. Jamie is preceded in death by his stepson Joey Bell; mother Gwendolyn Farris Cravens; Grandmother Faye Green; Grandfather George Green. Jamie had a passion for taking care of his land and farming and will always be remembered for his love for his family, especially his grandchildren, having big BBQ’s, drinking an ice cold LoneStar and mudding in his jeep in the tanks. He will forever be in our hearts and be missed beyond all measures.
