Jose Caldera Lopez

Jose Caldera Lopez, 93, of Miles went to be with the Lord on January 2, 2019. He was born to Apolonia and Gregorio Lopez on March 24, 1925 in Mexico. He married the love of his life, Delfina Gutierrez Lopez, on September 20, 1945. Jose worked for SAISD as a custodian for a number of years. After retirement, Jose enjoyed gardening and ranching. He was a member of Iglesia de Cristo. His biggest accomplishment was bringing his family to the United States and becoming citizens. Jose is survived by his wife of 73 years, Delfina; sons, Alejandro Lopez and wife Consuelo and Benny Lopez and wife Yolanda; daughters, Julia Martinez and husband Crespin, Maria Diaz and husband Jose, Josefina De La Cerda and husband Homero and Natalia Zuniga and husband Roman. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Enrique Lopez; daughter-in-law, Edy Herlinda Paniagua; one grandson, one great granddaughter, 3 sisters and 2 brothers. A visitation will be held at from 6-8 PM at Johnson's Funeral Home Friday, January 4, 2019. A funeral service will be held in Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel at 2 PM on Saturday, January 5, 2019.
