He was born on May 15, 1982, in Stockton, CA, to Bill and Sherry Allen.
Joseph proudly served in the United States Army as a Cryptologic Linguist, enlisting on April 11, 2002. He achieved the rank of Specialist and honorably separated from service on April 10, 2008, after completing two tours in Iraq. While his military service was distinguished, it was the lifelong bonds he formed that meant the most to him—brothers for life, friendships built through shared experience, trust, and unwavering loyalty. These connections remained among his most treasured relationships.
After his military service, Joseph dedicated his career to wind and solar energy, working for various companies before concluding his career as an Operations Support Manager for BayWa r.e. Solar Projects LLC.
He was married to Bethany Allen for 22 amazing years, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. He was a devoted father to Mikayla, Joseph Jr., and Olivia, always putting his family first in everything he did.
Joe was not just my husband but my best friend—honorable and hardworking down to his core. He would do anything for the people in his life, and those lucky enough to know him recognized his easygoing charm and way of making people feel at ease, always ready with an inappropriate joke to bring laughter to those around him. But when you needed anything—whether it was help with a move, lending a hand with repairs, an ear to listen, or advice—he was there, without hesitation.
He found joy in the little things with his family and friends. He loved hunting, shooting, and building things—always working on a project, whether big or small. More than anything, he loved spending time with the people he cared about, whether it was painting Warhammer miniatures, playing games, camping, or even a trip to Home Depot.
A celebration of life will be held at 12 PM on Tuesday March 11, 2025 at Johnson's Funeral Home in San Angelo, TX, with a reception to follow.
Please note that the scheduling of this service is subject to change, contingent upon the approval of Joseph's oldest daughter's military leave.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to a charity that supports or advocates for veterans. Donations in Joseph’s honor would be a meaningful way to support those who have served.
Joseph is survived by his parents, Bill and Sherry Allen; his brother, James Allen; his wife, Bethany Allen; and his children, Mikayla, Joseph Jr., and Olivia.
He was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
