

Josie was born in Millersview, TX on March 29, 1925 to A.G. & Carmen Terrazas.
She was married on January 24, 1948 to Frutozo (Slim) Garza, they were married for 47 years until the day of his passing in 1995.
Josie had many careers during her lifetime, she was a store clerk, school lunchroom cook and her most important job was being a housewife and a mother to her beloved family. She was an avid member of St. Phillips Catholic Church and had a great passion for sewing, especially the art of knitting, in particular doilies. She also loved to bake cookies and cakes for anyone and everyone to enjoy. Among her many passions she enjoyed dancing to Tejano music.
Josie was preceded in death by her parents; Atilano & Carmen Terrazas, her husband; Frutozo Garza, daughter; Linda E. Meyer, siblings; Albert Terrazas, Rosendo Terrazas & Nellie Mireles.
She leaves to cherish her memories; her son, Marion A. Garza & wife Teresa, grandchildren; Carmen M. Prescott, Amber N. Fields of San Antonio, TX, and Eric A. Meyer of San Angelo, TX, great grandchildren; Stevin & Trejn Fields of San Antonio, TX, and siblings; Alex Terrazas and wife Minnie, Jodie Arteaga & husband Nicholas of San Angelo, TX, Victor Terrazas & wife Erlinda, and Mary Louise Garza and husband Rudy of Eola, TX as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will include a visitation at Johnson's Funeral Home on Wednesday March 8, 2017 5 -7 P.M.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday March 9, 2017 in Eola, TX at St. Phillips Catholic Church at 10 A.M. with burial immediately following services in Millersview Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be sent to the Dementia Care of San Angelo. A special word of appreciation is extended to Solaris Hospice, Cedar Manor Nursing Home & nurses staff (Denise and Ida) and to Dylan Littlejohn from Solaris Hospice Care for the excellent care they all extended to Josie.
