Julia Elizabeth Jackson

She was born on July 15, 1919, in Coahoma Mississippi. Her parents were William Gaston Upchurch and Pauline Montroy Upchurch.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel.

Judy grew up in Clarksdale, Mississippi. She married Frank Melvin Jackson on November 20, 1948, with two sons being born to them.

She moved to Texas with her two young sons and soon began working for the Texas Highway Department as an accountant, retiring in 1981 after 29 years. Mom always loved her frequent trips to Las Vegas with her sisters, as her greatest joy was her family.

Judy was preceded in death by both parents, her sisters Carolyn Murphree and Dorothy Hunter, and her brother Allen Upchurch.

She is survived by her two sons, Frank Jackson and wife Patricia of San Angelo, and Billy Jackson and wife Robin of Somerville, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Julie Jackson of Cleveland, Mississippi, Will Jackson of Somerville, Tennessee, Frank Jackson, Jr. and wife Shannon of San Angelo, and Brian Jackson of San Angelo. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren; Chandler Jackson, Melanie Jackson, and Madison Jackson.
