Kathy Amonett, 61, of San Angelo passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2018. Services will be held at Johnson’s Funeral Home in San Angelo, TX, on Thursday, December 6th, 10am followed by a graveside service at Miles Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, 6-8pm.
Kathy was born August 7, 1957 in San Angelo, Texas to Clinton and Annie Ree Tounget. She graduated from Miles High School and attended Angelo State University. She continued on to receive her law degree from the University of Missouri. Kathy opened a private law practice in San Angelo and continued to serve her clients for over 20 years. In 2006, Kathy closed her practice and went to work for Child Protective Services as a regional attorney.
Kathy met Kevan and they were married August 1999. Together they enjoyed cooking at BBQ competitions, traveling, working on projects around the house, bargain hunting, and spoiling their grandchildren. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Kevan, children Kevan Dan and Katie Amonett, Kevin and Ashleigh Amonett, Reanna and Derek Choate, Steven Womack, mother-in-law Bobbie Amonett, and her seven grandchildren, Kaylee and Daniel Amonett, Zoe and Olivia Choate, and Ariana, Danny, and Zadrian Amonett.
