Lois Marie 94 years old was born November 29, 1927, to Rudolph Joe and
Lillie Annie Fisher Schovajsa in Rowena, Runnels County, Texas. This
beautiful soul was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother,
aunt, cousin, and a friend to many. She graduated from Miles High School in
1946 and worked on her parent's farm until she married Earl Henry Gordon
on January 28, 1948.
Lois was a career homemaker who loved crafts, sewing, as well as cooking
for her family. She loved researching and compiling information on her
families’ histories, and anyone who visited Earl and Lois’ home will recall her
love for decorative/historical plates. She enjoyed playing canasta and bunco
with her friends, and she served and volunteered with the United Methodist
Women. She was a member of Saint Mark’s United Methodist Church, San
Antonio, Texas, and a 75-year member of the SPJST Society of Texas.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband Earl Gordon, her son Randy Earl
Gordon, her grandson Randy Earl Gordon, Jr., and her brother Calvin William
Schovajsa. She is survived by her daughter Patricia Hope of Winston-Salem,
North Carolina; daughter-in-law Cheryl (Harvey) Gordon of San Antonio,
Texas; three granddaughters: Gayla and her husband Scott Carlile of San
Antonio, Texas; Darla and her husband Scot Jackson of Cresson, Texas; and
Ronda (Hope) and her husband Dusty Wilson of Bermuda Run, North
Carolina; and seven great-grandchildren who loving called her GG: Hannah
(Jackson) and husband Dalton Marcum of Houston, Texas; Logan Jackson
and his Fiancée Maddy Buys of Ankeny, Iowa; Haleigh Carlile and Haden
Carlile of San Antonio, Texas; Pete Wilson and Addison Wilson of Bermuda
Run, North Carolina; and Luke Jackson of Cresson, Texas; and numerous
nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. on July 16, 2022, in the chapel of Johnson’s
Funeral Home located at 435 W. Beauregard Ave., San Angelo, Texas. A
private Interment will follow in Miles Cemetery, Miles, Texas. In lieu of
