Rena Mae Beam

Rena Mae Beam of Colorado Springs, CO passed away on May 13, 2023 at the Bronte Health and Rehab Center at the age of 103. She was born on July 6, 1919 in Blackwell, TX to Jasper A. and Mary Vaught Oden. Rena attended Blackwell High School and graduated in the class of 1936. Rena married Jesse Lee Beam on March 22, 1940 and had 3 children. She worked in sales for Sears and then Dillard’s for 35 years as a Regional Sales Manager. Rena was a proud member of Rebecca Lodge and had a passion for working as a volunteer and helping people. She won an award in 2002 signed by President George Bush for over 2000 hours of volunteer service. Rena will always be remembered for her painting, sewing and playing games. She was preceded in death by her parents Jasper A. and Mary Vaught Oden, her husband Jesse L. Beam, grandson Lee Oliver Beam and 12 siblings, Rev. Austin Oden, Leonard O. Oden, Eula Oden Nabers, Vernon Oden, Joe W. Oden, John A. Oden, E. Melvin Oden, Evelyn Oden Reaves, Stella F. Oden, T.J. Oden, Lou Emma Oden Bartee, and M. Louise Oden Brooks. Those left to cherish her memory are her children Robert J. Beam and wife Paula, Danny F. Beam and wife Peggy and Vicky Trusdle and husband Steve, grandchildren Jeannie Reddan and husband Jim of Castle Rock, CO, Michael Trusdle of Colorado Springs, CO, and Lucas Trusdle of Colorado Springs, CO, great grandchildren Tanner, Hannah, and Cooper Reddan of Castle Rock, CO and many special nieces, nephews and great nephews and nieces. A visitation will be held from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 22, 2023 at the First Methodist Church in Blackwell, TX with a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Blackwell Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Trusdle, Lucas Trusdle, Larry Oden, Terry Oden, James Oden and R.H. Reaves. Honorary Pallbearer will be Robert Nabers.
