Roberto V. Torres

He was born on August 14, 1922 in Cuidad Acuna, Coahuila to Alejo Torres and Maria de Jesus Villarreal de Torres. Beto married Julia Perez in 1951 and moved to Chicago, IL., where they lived for 13 years, during which time they had their family. In 1964 Beto and Julia moved to San Angelo, where they made their permanent home.

Beto was preceded in death by his parents, several siblings and his wife Julia, who died on June 25, 2012. His survivors include his children: Martha Elena Solis of San Antonio, Myrna T. Arguello of Albuquerque, Roberto Torres Jr. and daughter in law, Carmen Torres of Carrollton; surviving grandchildren are Marisa Elena Medina, Roberto Medina, and Jose G. Arguello III. His surviving siblings are Olivia, Argentina, Esperanza, Consuelo, and many nieces and nephews.

Arrangements have been made at Johnson’s Funeral Home. The rosary will be held on Monday, August 12 at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be held at Holy Angels Church on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at 10:00 a.m; burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
