Teresa Ortiz

A prayer service will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at Johnson’s Funeral Home.

Teresa was a very loving and Christian woman who shared her faith and kindness with everybody she met. She was a faithful member of Bethel Assembly of God, and a dedicated caretaker for the elderly. Teresa was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who touched the lives of many.

She was preceded in death by her mother Olivia Ortiz; father Tereso Ortiz; brother Steve Ortiz; brother Jessie Ortiz; sister Petra Ramirez; sister Tomasa Garcia; sister Isabel Ramos; and sister Lucia Rodriguez.

She is survived by her son, Augustine Duran Jr.; daughter Monica Sims and husband Nathan Sims; Miguel Garcia whom she loved as her son; 2 grandchildren; Elijah Sims and Heaven Sims; 2 sisters and 2 brothers; Cruz Martinez; Olivia Garza: Joe (Chato) Ortiz and Johnny Ortiz. She leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who she loved dearly.

Goodbyes are not forever, Goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean I miss you, until we meet again. The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice for all their assistance and generosity.
