

Walter Emil Holik, Sr., 91, of Miles Texas went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 in San Angelo, TX. The Funeral Service will be 4:00 P.M., Friday, May 6, 2011 at Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William Rosser and Chaplain Nancy York officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Walter was born February 18, 1920 in Rowena, Texas to his beloved parents, Frank J. Holik, Sr. and Albina Ripple Holik. He graduated from Ballinger High School in 1938 and then went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army from 1942 – 1945 during WWII. After being honorably released from the service Walter returned to the farm where he met and later married the love of his life Wanda Jean Carpenter on July 4, 1949. In 1952 they moved to Miles, Texas where they have farmed and lived until his death. They shared over 61 beautiful years of marriage together. During his lifetime he served as an FSA County committeeman. Walter was known as an outstanding farmer and an honest man. He was also known as a loving and devoted husband and father who without exception never missed any of his children’s activities. Walter was the perfect example of how to live your life and take care of your family he had an incredible work ethic and the utmost of integrity. We will dearly miss him but he will live on in our hearts forever! He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved son, Clay Holik and son-in-law, Bob Wells and his much loved Father and Mother-in-law, Aaron and Maida Carpenter. Also preceding him in death were Frank Holik, Stanley and Ruby Holik, Libby and Henry Dusek, Georgia Riemenschneider, Elsie Holik, and Aaron Carpenter, Jr. Walter is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Wanda Jean Holik, of Miles,TX; his loving children, Walter E. Holik, Jr. and his wife Hariece, of Wall, TX., Fraron Holik, of Eldorado, TX., Kathy Wells, of Ballinger, TX.,Danny Holik and his wife Darlene, of Miles, TX. and Toni Holik, of Veribest, TX; his Grandchildren, Shaelynna Spahr, of Ballinger, TX., April and Mike Bowman, of Wall,TX., Julie and Allen Gould, of Pflugerville,TX., Quinten and Kamber Holik, of San Angelo, TX., Laura and Scott Steely, of San Angelo, TX., Ryan and Stefany Holik, of Miles, TX., Mallory and Justin Duyck, of San Angelo, TX., Elizabeth and Michael King, of San Angelo, TX., Grace Holik, of San Angelo, TX., Clint Holik, Charly Holik, Cliff Holik and Chad Holik, all of Veribest, TX; his Great Grandchildren, Cheryl, Devon, Jordan, Luke, Hunter, Kelton, Madelynn, Brylee, P.J., Ella Claire, Logan and Jace; his Brother, Eddie Holik, Sr., of Wall, TX; His Sister’s, Albina Plagens, of San Angelo, TX. and Marcella Carpenter, of San Angelo. Also surviving him are Milton Plagens, Sr., of San Angelo, TX., Adolph and Anita Riemenschneider, of Miles, TX., Libby Holik, of San Angelo, TX., and Jimmy Carpenter, of Miles, TX., and Helen Carpenter, of Spokane, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins and other family members and close friends. Pallbearers for the service will be his grandsons and grandsons-in-law, Quinten Holik, Ryan Holik, Chad Holik, Cliff Holik, Clint Holik, Mike Bowman, Michael King, Allen Gould, Scott Steely and Justin Duyck. The family is very grateful to all the stewards of his farm land, Roman Multer, James Matthiesen, David Moeller, David Urbanek and Clarence Schaefer. Honorable pallbearers for the service will be the afore mentioned and Werner John Lippe, Henry Fred Lippe and Morris Elliott. The family would like to extend their sincerest thanks to Ruth Lippe, Linda Chantaca, Med Way Home Health, Hospice of San Angelo and Senior Care Center.
