You were never Walter, you were just Uncle Gene to me. The referees at any of our soccer, softball, basketball, volleyball games didn't know that was the # 1 fan hollering in the stands for hiss nieces, daughters, granddaughters! You were larger than life and I thank you for loving us always. Donna was our 4 th musketeer and we're so happy you shared her with us. Our summers were filled with swimming and barbies and you always teased us but we've all become really strong women, thank you always for believing and supporting us and you'll never know how special it was to look in the stands and see Uncle Gene up there cheering  for us, hug Jimmy Don for us ok.

So many lives are a little brighter having experienced your heartfelt smiles and laughter. Such a big heart, loving man, father and husband. A very special Uncle to us. We will always remember your sweet voice and special way you welcomed others into your life, it always comforted me and made me feel special. Billie, my Mom was Lois McWilliams. I grew up knowing you and Gene Jimmy Don and Randall, I always thought yall were such a beautiful family. I'm so sorry for you and your family's loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Our sadness is deep over the loss of Gene.  We will miss you and always felt a part of your family. Your love of our children and really, all children built a foundation that made them strong.  We loved playing games of 42 or volleyball and enjoyed all the ballgames we attended as spectators.  Over the past 53 years that we Minors have shared with you, you were a super brother-in-law and we are grateful for the help and advice you gave to us newly weds.  We will miss sitting at our Sunday dinners arguing over whatever topic came up at the time, not to mention at our holiday feasts where you kept careful count of just how many helpings some of us had taken that day;  we took your teasing the way you gave it, with love and hopefully a good comeback.  We fondly and gratefully remember all the times you made our girls laugh and all the games you watched them play as their number one fan.   

We didn't say thank you enough then for your guidance but you helped to mold them into the women they are today and they are pretty awesome, as are your own children.  I know many young men you coached over the years were better for having spent time with you and your own children admire you with respect and love in their heart.   Loving your wife and children as you did, not to mention including her family as well as your own in your life made you a really special person.  You will be missed by us all.

 Randy and Donna will stay strong and as always make you proud of them. Jimmy Don will take care of you now. In your honor, BettySue will have an extra helping of dressing every Thanksgiving and Christmas from now on. That's a promise.  We are sorry to see you go.
