Visitation is at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 in Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Belvedere Memorial Park.
Wayne served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy during WWII. He spent his career teaching junior high school math.
He was preceded in death by Doris, his wife of 58 years, granddaughter Bonnie Zills, his parents, one brother and one sister. Survivors include his children: Robert Mitchell, Steve Mitchell, and Debbie Zills (Danny); brother Dewayne Mitchell; and cherished friend Mary Ann Shuffield.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend, and teacher. He will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or a charity of your choice.
