I searched your name on Facebook today and found this obituary.  I didn't know of your passing, I thought of you often.  Now I know you had many loved ones surrounding you since the years we were together.  I am so glad you were happy and found someone special, your pictures show that.  My love to Izzy and Pam and their family.  I loved you like crazy and always will.

It's 2014 my husband. A new year without you in it. Even after all this time, none of it seems real. I still look for you around every corner. Speak your name everyday. Kiss your pillow every night. It's hard to believe a year has passed already. Linda and I talk about you everyday. We still laugh about the time you were outside her bedroom window singing loud enough to wake up at least 4 neighbors who decided what the heck and before long everyone was on the porch singing with you. Words cannot express the shock and sadness I feel from losing my beloved Uncle Abel. I don't think I have ever been more stunned in my life. It helps to read all the comments from his friends and know what a great man he was. You will have a hard time finding anyone saying anything negative about him. He was always laughing and smiling. The last time I saw my uncle was in April at a family event. He told me, “I always loved you because you're the only niece I have that I can remember the names of your kids.” “But Tio, I don't have kids,” I said. “I know. That's why I can remember their names!”  My uncle was always cracking jokes and making me laugh. So it should come as no surprise that in our last conversation he made a joke like that. Maybe somehow fate knew what was coming and they wanted my last encounter with him to include a laugh. That many years from now, I would look back fondly on our last moment together and smile. Linda – thank you for being so good to my uncle. I can tell how much he loved you and you made him a better man. I hope our families continue to spend time together. It's no doubt that he was taken too us far too soon. But I know my uncle would not want me or his loved ones to cry. He would probably say that even though it might seem like the time he was given on this Earth was short, he made the most of what he was given and he lived it up. I love you Uncle Abel. You are gone from my life but never from my heart.

I will always remember Abel as such a sweet and kind man. He was always smiling and if any help was ever needed, he was there. He loved Linda even when she was stubborn and wouldn't go on a date with him! Such a caring man has left our lives but not our hearts. A week ago today you sat across from me at the dinner table with your beautiful wife Linda. I noticed their was a certain glow upon your face illuminating your smile. I didn't know that it would be the last time that I would see you. I thank God for giving me some of the last few hours you had here to spend with you.
