

Abraham David “Abe” Ribak passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife Myra Kulbersh Ribak of 60 years and his children, Sam (Dawn) Ribak, Amy (David) Sokol, Jenny (Rich) Wolkowitz, and Nancy (Anthony) Altadonna, and his grandchildren: Jake Ribak, Jessica Sokol, Allison Sokol, Zoe (Liam) Wolkowitz Brannon, Talia Wolkowitz, Phoebe Wolkowitz, Filippo Altadonna, and Solomon Altadonna.
Abe is a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School, Trinity University and St. Mary’s Law School. Abe served in the U.S. Military as an infantry shooting instructor in the Army and retired as a 1st Lieutenant in 1963. Abe practiced law for over 25 years and served in the Texas State House of Representatives from 1975-1979. He also served in State Senator Frank Madla’s Administration as a legal advisor. Abe was an active member of the community, serving as a youth group advisor for AZA Jewish service organization, a Committee member for the JCC’s Jewish Film Festival, an active member of the San Antonio Bar Association, served as a docent at the San Antonio Zoo, and an active member of Congregation Agudas Achim where he planned and executed the first Israeli Festival in the early 1970s.
Abe was an avid reader, lover of history and politics. Abe and Myra covered the globe on their many travels - from China to Chile, throughout Europe, and from Israel to Australia. Cruising and traveling around the world was important to Abe and Myra.
