
Born in Nanking, China, Agnete immigrated to the United States to pursue her education, earning a Bachelor's Degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, followed by a Master's Degree in Library Science from Vanderbilt Peabody College.
Agnete spent the majority of her professional life as a librarian for the city of McAllen, Texas, where she was deeply respected for her dedication to her work and her community.
Preceded in death by her loving husband, David T. Liu, and her son, Austin W.T. Liu, Agnete is survived by her daughter, Dr. Nadine Liu and grandchildren, Dr. Jasmine Liu-Zarzuela and Samuel Richard Liu-Zarzuela.
Agnete will be fondly remembered for her deep love of nature, particularly the beautiful garden she lovingly tended to over many decades. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, ballroom dancing, and cooking, all of which brought her joy and allowed her to share warmth and hospitality with her loved ones.
Agnete will be dearly missed by all who knew her for her kindness, grace, and unwavering love for her family.
