

In loving memory of Albert Chapa Sr., a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother in law, uncle, and friend, called to be with the Lord on July 4th. He was 49 years old. Albert is survived by his loving wife, Minerva Chapa, of 31 years; two sons, Albert Chapa, Jr. (Jeannette) and Marcos Chapa. He also had one grandson, his pride and joy, Albert Chapa III, and another on the way, Andrew Chapa, who is soon to arrive in August.
Albert is survived by his mother, Clara Chapa (Gilberto Gonzales) and his brothers and sisters, Rosa Johnson (George, deceased), Juan Chapa (Sue), Mary Villarreal (Rick), Elizabeth Alaniz, Martha Chapa, Gilberto Chapa Jr.(Betty), Manuel Chapa (Ester) Connie Ortiz, Aida Cantu and Eddie Chapa (Ruth). Albert is preceded in death by his grandmother, Francisca Troncoso; his uncle, Alex Chapa; father, Gilberto Chapa; and nephew, Jorgie Vargas.
Albert is also survived by his loving in-laws, Noe and Hermina Conde, Enedina De La Torre (Valentin, deceased), Enedelia Conde, Noe Conde Jr. (Susanna), Norma Villanueva, Martin Conde (Belinda), Ninfa Vidouria (Phillip), and Gilbert Conde (Jessenia). Albert is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Albert was born in Raymondville, Texas and raised in Santa Rosa, Texas. Before graduating from high school in 1985, Albert enlisted in the US Marine Corp in May 1984 and served proudly for 13 years. Albert was a Gulf War Veteran and deployed to Saudi Arabia for nine months. After the Marine Corp, Albert worked as a construction superintendent for 16 years.
Albert looked intimidating and feared by most, but he was a gentle giant. He was patient, kind and a great listener. He was loved by his family and friends. Albert will truly be missed.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, July 12, 2015, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
