Albert Guzman Sr.

Albert Guzman Sr., age 82, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on August 17, 1942, to the late Leonides and Maria Delgado Guzman. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, friend, and a faithful servant of the Lord.

Albert is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Maria, and his children John Guzman (David), Albert Guzman Jr. (Julie), Titus Guzman (Tina) and Paul Guzman (Lisa). He was a proud grandfather to Amber (Dwayne), Megan (Santos), Tyler (Jonathan), Taylor (Joseph), Aaron (Charlott), Nick (Inge), Alyssa (Ervey), and a great-grandfather to King, Khalil, Erin, and Ella. He is also survived by his siblings Robert, Jimmy, Octaviano, David, Margie, Martha, and preceded by death his siblings Angel, Nora, Betty, Becky, Lucy, and Christina. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Albert dedicated his life to the military serving 21 years in the United States Army and then serving 15 plus years with the U.S. Postal Service. Albert loved the game of golf and enjoyed his time on the golf course as much as he could. He traveled across the country and overseas with his wife and family and made numerous trips to Las Vegas, one of his favorite casino locations. Nothing made him happier than spending time by the pool for family gatherings; especially when all the grandchildren would come over for a swim. He enjoyed late night movies and watching old westerns of his all-time hero, John Wayne. He loved his family deeply and never missed the opportunity to spend time with them. We will always cherish and carry his memory in our hearts.

A memorial service to honor Albert will be held on Wednesday, March 19th with visitation from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Sunset Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, Texas 78218. The funeral service will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 20th at Sunset Funeral Home with the procession and interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
