He was born May 12, 1921 in Fondi, Italy to Michael Papa and Maria Grazia Fornaro. He became a United States citizen and served in the U.S. Army from 1942-1946.
He married Dorothy Jeanne Olson of Sioux City, Iowa on August 26, 1944. He graduated from U.T. Austin in 1951 and owned a drug store in the Alamo Heights area until his retirement in 1979.
Albert is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy Jeanne; his daughter Katherine, her husband John Nichols, and their daughter Jessica of Camano Island, WA; his son Albert, Jr., his wife Irene and their three children, Shannon, Stacey and Steven of Burbank, CA; and his brother Peter Papa and wife Wilma of Bridgewater, NJ.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
