Alberto Barrera, age 70, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, March 31, 2007. After many years of dedicated service, he retired from Alamo Cement in 1999. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of over 40 years, Maria Elena Barrera and his parents, Jesus and Lorenza H. Barrera.
He is survived by his two daughters: Maria Elida Barrera and Maria Theresa Barrera Velasquez; grandsons: Joey Velasquez, Alberto Velasquez and wife, Lindsay; Daniel Ross, Alex Ross and Austin Barrera; brothers and sisters: Lupe Rodriguez, Amelia B. Cavazos, Maria B. Mora, Vicente Barrera and wife, Irene; Celia B. Gonzales and husband, Gilbert; Augustine Barrera and wife, Anita; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Odyssey Hospice and their staff for the care provided to Alberto during his stay.
He will be greatly missed.
