Alberto DeHoyos Valdez entered into eternal rest on June 15, 2022, at the age of 80 years old. He was born on March 10, 1942, in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila but became a proud American citizen. Alberto opened Albert's Auto Upholstery in 1976 and worked until his retirement in 2014. He was very passionate about his shop till the end. He would ask about it every day after his retirement.
Alberto was an avid reader of history, science, and the bible. He loved telling stories about his adventure or something he read to family and friends. He also enjoyed watching Clint Eastwood westerns up until his last day. He loved to bar-b-que for family and friends as well as visiting parks, camping, hiking, bicycling, and even trying canoeing. He especially loved giving to the less fortunate. One of his last wishes was to donate money to them.
Alberto is reunited with his wife of 46 years Benita Valdez; son, Armando Valdez; his parents, Felix and Josephina Valdez; sister, Angela Valdez and brother, Jose Valdez.
He is survived by his children, Flor Estella Valdez, and Irma Valdez; grandchildren April Valdez; Amanda Villatoro, Tiffany Valdez, Joesph Valdez, Ashley Valdez and step-son, Zuriel Valdez; great-grandchildren, Nyana Dominguez, Luke Valdez, and Archie Araiza; siblings, Alicia Gonzalez, Lidia Chapa, Rebecca Garza, Candie Rodriguez, and Ruth Saucedo; daughter in law, Marina Valdez (Armando Valdez PID); ex-son-in-law, Ricardo Martinez as well as numerous nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and friends. Alberto will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
A visitation for Alberto will be held Monday, June 27, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237. A prayer service will take place Monday, June 27, 2022, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237.
A funeral service will occur Tuesday, June 28, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Templo Bethel Assembly of God, 3024 Colima Street, San Antonio, TX 78207. An interment will occur
Tuesday, June 28, 2022, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at San Fernando Cemetery III, 746 Castroville Rd, San Antonio, TX 78237.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Templo Bethel following the Burial.
