

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Carmen, and their three children David (Rebecca), Daniel (Yolanda), and Diana. Additional survivors include five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and numerous other loving relatives.
Alex was a proud U.S. Army World War II veteran (1941-1945) who was awarded the European/African/Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal, and the American Defense Service Medal. In 1951 he began a 32 year career in Federal Civil Service as a heavy equipment mechanic at Fort Sam Houston. In Nov 1995 he joined the Fort Sam Houston Memorial Services Detachment where he performed duties as a Rifleman and Ceremonial Bugler for 15 years retiring at age 87.
Visitation/services are at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home beginning Tuesday, 26 Aug 2014, with visitation from 6:00-9:00 p.m. The memorial service will start at 7:00 p.m. On Wednesday, 27 Aug 2014, funeral services begin at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 10:15 a.m.
