a man who walked a difficult path with strength, grit, and deep love.
His life was not an easy one but it was real, it was brave, and it mattered.
Born on January 16, 1985, in Moline, Illinois,
Alex came into this world with a quiet determination.
The son of Vincent Knox and Francisca Tijerina,
he faced more than his share of challenges from an early age.
But he met life head-on, always striving, always pushing forward.
Alex was a fighter in every sense.
He wrestled with inner battles - hard ones that many never saw.
Yet through it all, he never stopped loving deeply,
giving what he could, and showing up for the people who mattered most.
He found meaning in building things with his hands-
in work that was honest and solid.
He found joy in the outdoors, in movies, music, and shared laughter,
and especially near water with friends and family.
Alex loved fiercely.
He was a devoted husband to Jamie Knox,
a proud father to Alexander (Giovanni), Abrahm, Ethan, and Aden,
and was soon to meet his first grandson Jeremyah.
He was a brother, a son, a friend -
and though he struggled, he never stopped caring.
On June 17th, Alex’s journey came to an end,
but his love, his strength, and his story live on.
He is now at peace, free from the weight he carried so long.
He is survived by his wife Jamie, his children and grandson,
his siblings Vannessa (Joey), Audrey (Jesse), and Sonny (Crystal),
his stepparent’s Mary and Richard,
and many others whose lives he touched.
We will gather on July 12th to remember Alex-
to speak his name, share our memories,
and honor the truth of a life lived with courage.
His journey was not perfect, but it was his own.
And he was loved - deeply, and always.
