

Today, we mourn the passing of Alfonso Orozco Jr., born August 16, 1932, in San Antonio, TX to Victoria Garza and Alfonso Orozco. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of almost 70 years, Mary Irene Orozco.
Alfonso was a proud veteran of the United States Army, retiring after 22 years as a Command Sergeant Major after serving in the Korean War. He was also a hardworking and dedicated postal employee from where he retired in 1995.
He is survived by his four daughters, Cindy and Jerry Hitchcock, Linda and David Trevino, Renee and Manny Vasquez, and Juliann and Jason Scott; grandchildren, Justin Hitchcock, Mary Jones, Thomas Trevino, Katherine Trevino, Amanda Vasquez, Sara Flores, Jessica Guerra, Haylie Scott, and Zachary Scott and seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Hector Orozco and wife Beatrice and Oscar Orozco and wife Liz; sister, Olga Rodriguez; as well as numerous extended family members and a lifetime of friends.
Alfonso was a loving husband to Mary Irene for almost seven decades. He was an amazing father to his four daughters who will always remember him for his kindness and dedication to his family. He cherished time spent with all his grandchildren who were the light of this life. He loved fishing, hunting, the rodeo and tequila!
He will be remembered fondly by all who knew him for being an incredible friend to many throughout his life. His sense of humor was unparalleled - even when times were tough, he could always make those around him laugh! The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, February 13, 2023 from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
