

Alice J. Hawkins was born in Longview Texas on February 11, 1924 to Vernell Williams, and Isom Gray. At a later date, after marrying her husband, Webbie Hawkins, she moved to San Francisco California where they resided, until his death in the early 1990’s.
After his passing, she moved to San Antonio to be closer to family, and a caregiver to her mother until her passing. “Ms. Alice” as many called her, was dedicated as a caregiver to her family and many people throughout her life. She always had a kind word for someone, and believed in as she would always say…” “Treating everybody right….and “ Its always nice to be nice” Everyone loved her kind, loving spirit.
She was preceded in death by her husband Webbie Hawkins, mother Vernell Williams, brother Isom Gray, brother James Gray, and brother Henry B. Gray, and nephew Bobbie Wright. She is survived by her sisters, Ola Mae Adams, Marie A. Coleman, Dorothy Hardy & brother Corrie Gray. She is also survived , by nieces, Angela Wheeler, Bernadette Thompson, April Hardy-Works, and La Verne Wright., and, Great Nieces Andrea Wheeler, Noelle Wheeler, and Monica Thompson, and Sherry Coleman. Nephews, Michael Coleman, Johnny Hardy, Robert Hardy, Tyrone Hardy, Great Nephew, CJ Wheeler, and Michael Thompson. Also survived by brother in-law Wendell Coleman.
She is our “Jewel”, but now resting in the arms of God….We love you so much!
