

Alice T. Ramirez, age 89, was a devoted wife, loving mother, grand-mother, and great-grandmother. She passed away on Monday, July 5, 2021, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on November 7, 1931, in San Antonio, Texas, to parents Eliseo Treviño and Elena Guillen Treviño.
At a very young age and as the eldest of 9 children, Alice helped her mother care for and nurture her siblings. She learned to cook and sew early on in her life. Alice married her high school sweetheart, Richard, on August 30, 1952, upon his return from the Korean War. She worked briefly at Kelly AFB, and then she dedicated the rest of her life to being a skilled homemaker and raising her family. Anyone who crossed paths with Alice immediately fell in love with her kind spirit.
Alice was the matriarch of her family. She was an exceptional mother who cared deeply for her family. Her children were her world. Alice loved spending time with her family, and she loved doting on all of her grandchildren. She was a very affectionate, generous, and humble person. Alice was a woman of great faith and a devout Catholic. She was a proficient seamstress who made countless school uniforms for the Cheerleaders and for the Pep Squad. She also made beautiful prom dresses and wedding dresses. Some of Alice’s favorite hobbies included knitting, listening to music, and reading. Alice lived a long, happy and blessed life, surrounded by all of her children. Her children will be forever grateful to their dear mother. She gave them so much and asked for so little in return. She was the epitome of love, faith and strength.
Alice was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Richard R. Ramirez; her sister, Gloria Hernandez; her son-in-law, Joey Gonzales; and her parents, Eliseo Treviño and Elena Guillen Treviño.
Alice Ramirez is survived by her children, Richard G. Ramirez (Delia), Roxane R. Cruz (Paul), Roland Ramirez (Sandra Garcia), Rosalind Gonzales, and Rhonda R. Villalobos (Ceasar); 13 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren; sisters, Esther Saenz, Bertha Sifuentes, Sylvia Guzman (Adam), Joann Ramirez (Pete), and Rebecca Muzquiz (Michael Murguia); brothers, Robert Treviño, and Eliseo Treviño (Olga); brother-in-law, Esiquio Hernandez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive guests from 6:00 pm to 9:00pm, on Thursday, July 15, 2021, at Sunset Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 7pm.
