Alta M. Markland of San Antonio, Texas entered into rest January 10, 2013. She was born December 9, 1930 in a rural community close to Luling, Texas to parents James Byron and Ada Mae Bailey Hatcher. Alta was a nurse and devoted her life to helping others. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend and will be deeply missed by her son, Laird Markland and his wife Isa, her grandchildren, Casey Markland and his wife Ashley and Amanda Williams and her husband Layne, her great-grandson, Brock Williams and also by her dear friend Dee Sidenstricker.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, January 15 from 9:30AM to 11AM at Cornerstone Church with a Service of Remembrance at 11AM. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park
