Alvin G. Smith

He is survived by his loving wife, Charline Foster Smith of San Antonio, TX; sister, Jacqueline Petty and husband, Ralph of Temple, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Alvin graduated from Pauls Valley, OK. High School and Chillicothe, MO., Business College and also attended Northwestern University, Chicago, IL.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1941 to 1945. Trained at Jefferson Barracks, MO and Casey Jones School of Aeronautics, Newark, NJ and attained the rank of S/Sgt. His tour of service included Kirtland Air force Base, Albuquerque, NM; Kelly Air Force Base, San Antonio, TX; Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma City, OK; and San Bernardino Air Force Base, San Bernardino, CA.

For 8 years, he was employed as Office Manager at Western Rust-Proof Co., Chicago, IL.

Since 1946, Alvin was the Office Manager at Addressograph Multigraph Sales Branch in San Antonio, TX.

Alvin was very proud to have been employed at the Alamo for almost 20 years, retiring in 2003.

Through the years, Alvin and Charlene enjoyed many trips within the United States, as well as Mexico, Canada, Cuba and Hawaii.

They both are active members of First Baptist Church, San Antonio, TX.
