

Our beloved mother, Ameila Villareal Ramirez, born on July 10, 1916 in Von Ormy, TX passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 12, 2015 at the age of 99. Mrs. Ramirez was a pillar of St. Jude Catholic Church and was an active and devoted member. She and her husband were founding parishioners that solicited pledges for funds to build St. Jude’s Catholic Church. Her most rewarding years were serving as a Eucharistic Minister, Lector for 10 years and taught Catechism for 40 years. She was an active member of the Guadalupanas Society, the Altar Society, the Legion of Mary and served as chairman of the church festivals. She faithfully prayed her rosary every evening, especially prayed for the sick whose many prayers were answered. Her favorite pastimes were gardening, fishing and playing cards. She had a beautiful gift of love for all people, especially her family. Her kindness and generosity will always be remembered. She is preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Antonio J. Ramirez; parents, Felipe and Anita Villarreal; siblings, Mary Mann, Beatrice Ramos and Carpeo Villarreal. She is survived by her children, Martin Ramirez (Amelia), Anna M. Alejos (Delfino), Cecilia R. Hernandez (Alfonso) and Antonio Ramirez Jr. (Teresa); also, 16 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, 8 step great grandchildren, 3 great- great grandchildren and 7 step great- great grandchildren. The Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday, August 17, 2015 at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Procession will depart from the funeral home on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of the Resurrection at St. Jude’s Catholic Church, 130 S. San Augustine, San Antonio, TX 78237. Interment will follow in San Fernando Cemetery No. 2.
