She was the Dr. Pepper Calendar girl in 1948 and modeled for many years. During her public relations career, she started her own business. She directed the Mrs. America Pageant for three years in the mid 1960's.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cmdr. Martin Laurence Dana, USN Ret.
She is survived by son, Gregory Adams Thompson and daughter Janice Lorraine Love and husband, Ken; stepsons, Richard Sandt Dana and wife, Nancy and David Roderick Dana and wife, Helen; 9 grandchildren; two sisters; two brothers; and numerous extended family.
