

Andrew Jackson Hodge, age 89, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2015 in Austin, Texas. He was born on October 12, 1925 in Castroville, Texas to parents, Mack and Brigida Hodge. He volunteered into the airborne parachutist program out of high school and was in Company 1 513th Parachute Infantry. He served his country during WWII. Andrew attended Trinity University and the University of Texas. He worked hard for many years and was able to retire at the age of 50 from Kelly Air Force Base as a Nuclear Weapons Specialist. This year, Andrew and his wife, Naomi, would have been married 60 years. One of his main passions in life was to love and teach his family to show integrity, moral standards and to follow through in their commitments. Andrew experienced comfort and peace in farming, gardening, traveling and watching sunsets at the beach, as well as spending time with his grandchildren. Andrew was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lt. Col. Felix Hodge and Mack Hodge and niece, Patricia Hodge. He is survived by his wife, Naomi Hodge; daughters, Yvonne Meyer and husband, Bill, Penelope Crownover and husband, Steve; grandchildren, Gabriel Guerra, Taylor Crownover, Sophia Crownover; nephews, Gerald Hodge, M.D., Joseph Hodge and Michael Hodge; step-granddaughter, Jessica Cano; step-great grandchildren, Zoe Wainer, Carlos Cano and Gavin Cano.
